Creative Writing: Dream

   When I woke up, the world had become up side down. I had to fall to the sky because there wasn't any ceiling. I was in a tent because I was enjoying my camp in the mountain. Suddenly, I became hungry and ate ice-cream which was in somebody's refrigerator. I didn't know the refrigerator was falling behind me. Then I realized, 'If I eat this, it'll drop everywhere?!'. My prediction was right. When I started to eat the ice-cream, it went out of the stick and dropped on my face. For a second it was so cold, but it slipped out of my face again. The thing was I was still hungry and good news. I saw a rameon! I determined to eat rameon, but I realized this was a liquid. It was way different from the popsticle and that meant, it could be even worse than the ice-cream. That was true, but that didn't matter. It was so painful because the soup of the rameon had gotton into my eyes. I said, 'Aaaaaahhh!', but soon I was trying to eat some of the noodle which was on my face. Silly me. Anyway, I started to be worried when I will stop falling. Why am I falling? Where is gravity? What am I doing? I couldn't see the ground. Soon, I was in a soft material. It was a black cloud. On top of me there was a red ocean and behind me there was a white space. In a few minutes I knew that the world was the opposite. White clouds were becoming black and soft, blue ocean were becoming red and so on. The biggest thing that had changed was that the cloud, the ocean, and everything was alive. I was a living thing. Why am I alive? Here's why. Sorry to say this, but everything that I told you today was a dream.

Dear. Fossil

Rocks. We could be indifferent to them that we found them every day, but we're not. We just past by as if there is nothing. Maybe it's because of other worries. Thinking about our parents filling your mouth with disgusting medicines or vegetables. Thinking about your teachers who will face with that angry looking face because we went to play with our friends instead of going to our academy. The biggest reason why we are not amazed of rocks will be that we can see them every time, but what if it's a fossil? It's way different than rocks. Fossil can't be seen very easily. It needs a lot of effort, patience, and strength.

When we want to find you, who is a fossil, we have to find a rock that has you inside. We can find you accidently when we are taking a walk in the park, but usually we go to a rock which has layers. These days, scientists break up a big part of those rocks. Then you start to appear. That happiness when we find you...so big that it's hard to express. You'll make us feel like we had seen a live Elmo. Unfortunately, that is not the end of it. We have to use a hammer which is pointy on one side and flat on the other side. Here, we need a proper amount of strength. We have to pull you out. You will have other things stick to you and now, we use our patience. We have to use a pin kind of material and scratch the things that are with you. Lastly, we use a small brush to clean up the dust which surrounded you. You will be clean if we finish that.

 

You could be a fish, trilobite, or a dinosaur. To me, your size doesn't matter, but a lot of people will want to find a dinosaur's bone. Actually, if we had found you who is in the shape of a dinosaur, we will need to find you a lot more. We will have to match you to make a full dinosaur fossil like a puzzle. If people finish matching, you will get admiration. You will be very special and will teach other things that people haven't discovered yet. You will be a star.

You could be fragile. You had stayed inside the rock for millions of years. If you see the light and sensed the air rushing by you, it means you're going to the outside world very soon. You should be ready not to be broken apart. It could be hard for you to brace yourself. I'm truly sorry for that, but wait. Wait until you see the Sky. You'll not regret it if you see the world. Clear blue sky, fresh green grass, beautiful fragrant flowers. Isn't that what you like? It'll be better that your real home which is dark, scary, and tight. Move your house and greet us. Happiness can come to you.

   You could be damaged, but the subtle and detailed form of you will surprise us. You're a triumphant fossil. The fossil. You're special. Come and greet us.

Reflective Essay: Considerate & Regret

  

A short scene in the movie, "Spring", shows a boy coiling a thread around the fish, frog, and a snake with a rock with it, and his master, who is a monk, keeps watch his behavior. Those animals have a hard time, until, the child who had caused that problem, had come to rescue them. Why did he come to rescue them? It's because his master had said to release the animal from the stone. Also, his master said that he will have a big stone in his heart for the rest of his life if one of the animal is killed. His master had strapped up the rock to the boy when he was asleep. He wanted to tell the boy a lesson. What could it be? It will be about being considerate and try to teach him that when an incident happened, we can't turn it back.

Considerate. What is considerate? Considerate means, 'always thinking of other people's wishes and feelings; careful not to hurt or upset others'. It could also be about thinking by putting oneself in the others shoes. It's a good way to know about 'being considerate' when we change each other's thoughts. In this video, this monk had tried to help the child to do this. He made the child experience the same situation that animal was in. Also, being considerate is very important in social life. When you think of what the others will think before doing something, you can have a proper decision. That happens a lot when somebody asks you for a choice. For example, whether to go to the speech contest or not could be hard to choose if you want to challenge yourself, but if you think what others would think, it will be easier. Thus, one of the lessons will be about being considerate.

The next lesson is that we can't turn something back if we had already caused something that you regret it. I mentioned that this boy had coiled a thread to some animals with a rock tied on it. The next day, the frog was alive, but the other animals were dead. The boy started to cry. He probably felt guilty and would have been shocked that something terrible had happened because of him. That's when we could think about the conversation between the master and the boy. The boy's master had said that he will have a big stone on his heart when one of the animals died. In the movie, 'Amazing Spiderman', the main character's small mistake had made his uncle past away. It was a small fight, but it made other people tremble in horror. He was so frustrated and angry at himself. The lesson-what the master wanted to teach the boy-could be about that we can't turn what we had done.

The monk had did the same thing to the boy which the boy had did to the animal. This means that we should consider others and respect them. He wanted to tell the boy that we should think about what the victims might think. Secondly, the monk said that there will be a big rock in his heart when one of the animals had died. It means that he will feel bad that he had killed an innocent animal. So, it means that we should think what will happen next. I feel horrible and have a lot of stress when somebody or something gets hurt because of me. This video reminded me of some important lessons. How about you?

What is LRA? LRA, which means 'Lord's Resistance Army', is a militant group. It has been accused of widespread human rights violations, including murder, child-sex slavery, forcing children to participate in hostilities, and many other crimes. Moreover, they ordered children to kill their own parents. How harsh. Can you believe that? The leader of the group, Joesph Kony, made an army with children and tried to hurt a lot of people. If you are one of those children, who are kidnapped by Kony, and he ordered you to hurt your parents, how would you feel? I would feel horrible. If we want to stop them, we should tell people around the world that we should try to catch him. The only way to do this is to make a video or write on the internet. We can't have a trip over the world. We don't have much time!

 

 

   I agree with the use of the video to capture Joesph Kony to make people know about him and to make them feel that they should help. There is a lot of way that we could tell people that we should stop him, but videos are the best way to make people impressed. They make us feel like we are meeting those people who are trying to help in real life. Also, when they get impressed they will start to be interested in Kony and will find a way to help the children. We should make a video and impress a lot of people to make them help us. Who knows? Kony could be famous like Mickey Mouse.

        

   Secondly, when Kony gets famous because of the video, he will start to be nervous. Nervousness makes people hard to do something and it could affect Kony as well. Feeling nervous, Kony will think that he does not have hope and give up. He could make more soldiers to strengthen his army, but if everybody in this world agrees to capture him, he will try not to kidnap any more. Children and adults will stop his cruel movement. We should use a video to capture Kony because it makes him nervous and that could stop him from doing something evil.

   Thirdly, making Kony famous will help the 'invisible children' which is a group that tries to help children from that evil man. They get donations to help those children and make videos, take pictures and do a lot of other things that could help them. If a lot of people gave donations to the 'invisible children', it could help them find out Kony. Donations are spent in other stuffs, too, but it is better to donate some of the money to help the 'invisible children' to capture Kony.

   Kony has recruited up to 66,000 child soldiers in the past two decades. His troops often come into villages and kill the adults and force a lot of children to fight for his army. I think we should use videos to capture Joesph Kony by making him famous because it makes people have interest in him and have the mind to help us. Also, it could make him so nervous that he gives up or could convince people to help the 'invisible children' to capture Kony. Video is a good way to capture Kony, who is very evil. Videos, let's start!

Three Things I Know To Be True

 

   Many things are facts, but if somebody abruptly asks you what you know, you will be suprised and can't think of something. Actually many thoughts will pass by your mind, but it will be hard to make a decision; espectially when we should have a good fact it will be much harder. Let's think that we are introducing ourselves as students. It will be easier. Now, be ready to read my ideas!

   My first thing that I know to be true is that I like to read books and admire Albert Einstein and Issac Newton. I also like English fantasy books. I like learning new things and science books gice a lot of information. First, I really wanted to memorize all what I had read, but I realized that we should just know what it is to make reading books fun. I had known about Einstein and Newton from those science books and I began to admire them instead of other scientists. The reson was that Newtonm had created his own world when he saw the apple fall. Next is Einstein. He is a genious, no doupt, but I think he had tried a lot and suceeded. I really respect them(not love of course) and should try a lot like a growing tree which actually tries a lot to make their seeds.

   My second truth is that everybody needs friends. Sometimes they can be upset or mad at us and hurt our feelings. Even so, we need them to help each other a lot and be happy. They help us whenever we have a problem and can play with us when we feel bored. Also, they could make us compete with each other and help us on our studies. World without friends will be horrible. No matter how they treat you badly, they can actually be your true friends and can give you a valuable lesson. Friends should always be beside us.

   Third, GLPS camp is where we can master our englich ability. We learn debate, writing, math, PE, history, and many other subjects. The program could be hard, but after we get into it it feels much more fun and helps us improve. I think that's one of the best parts in this camp. There are a few rules, too. E-O-P is a rule which is an acronym of  'English Only Policy'. This rule is harsh, but it actually helps us improve our speaking skills. You feel happy and satisfied when you figure out that you have actually learned something from your effort. I had experienced this feeling after I finished my academy and will experiance a lot in this camp, too. I think GLPS camp is one of the best places to feel this emotion.

   Three things that I know to be true are that first, I like to read science books and respect Einstein and Newton who had tried a lot and didn't give up. My second fact was that GLPS camp is one ot the greatest camps to gain English skills. What are your three things that you know to be true? Why don't you introduce them to us?
